Keleketla! Library: Club Night

Talks, music and club night around the South African Kwaito Movement

The Allure of Gold and Other Solidarity Stories is an exhibition by Keleketla! Library within the 10th Berlin Biennale at HAU Hebbel am Ufer (HAU2) in Berlin-Kreuzberg with a one-day expansion to YAAM in Berlin-Friedrichshain. Its aim is to meditate on artistic symbolic expressions of geopolitical solidarities.

On June 9 and 10 as well as June 13 through 16, 2018, HAU2 serves as a site where a billboard, prints and interactiveinstallation investigate the materiality of solidarities, such as banners, letters, music videos and publications.

On June 14, 2018, YAAM hosts the discursive club-night with sonic lectures, screenings,installations, improvisations and decodings.

The Allure of Gold and Other Solidarity Stories is an exhibition project realized by Keleketla! Library and is part of their larger project Thath’i Cover Okestra Vol. 5: 17 July to 12 September 1977: Lebo Mathosa is Born, Steve Biko is Assassinated at Hebbel am Ufer (HAU2) within the framework of the 10th Berlin Biennale. It is commissioned and coproduced by Berlin Biennale for Contemporary Art and HAU Hebbel am Ufer (Berlin).
