Preparatory Notes for a Chicago Comedy reflects on the contemporary art scene today and draws on Aby Warburg' s play Hamburg Conversations on Art: Hamburg Comedy (1896), which chronicles the struggle between an art scene' s conservative and progressive factions at the turn of the nineteenth century. It is performed by Sabina Donnelly, Francisco Sanchez Martinez, Javier Sanchez Martinez, Burkhart Seidemann, Magy da Silva, and Joey Zimmermann, with choreography the artist developed with Brygida Ochaim. Stage design produced by Stuart Hall, Zoe Parsons, and Emma Troubridge.
