A curated selection of rarely screened short films by women sets the stage for Lizzie Borden’s masterpiece feature length, Born in Flames, a film made over several years and combining footage from the lives of actors and scripted scenes with a cast that includes Civil Rights activist Flo Kennedy, film director Kathryn Bigelow, and Adele Bertei from the band, The Contortions. Born In Flames attempts to visualize the desires of women who want revolution over bourgeois radicalism.
