After more than a year, the 11th Berlin Biennale for Contemporary Art ended

The 11th Berlin Biennale ended with about 30,000 visits. This was preceded by a process that began in September 2019 with exhibitions and various event formats at the ExRotaprint site in Berlin’s Wedding neighborhood. It was there that the curatorial team, María Berríos, Renata Cervetto, Lisette Lagnado, and Agustín Pérez Rubio, began a dialogue with the city of Berlin and its inhabitants. The epilogue brought these experiences, and the topics addressed, together with artistic positions from around the world.

In order to make the Berlin Biennale available to those who were not able to attend in person, comprehensive documentation of the exhibition and the entire program of events that has taken place since September 2019 is available on the website of the 11th Berlin Biennale. In addition to video tours of all four exhibition venues with the 11th Berlin Biennale curators, the website also includes documentation of performances, talks with the artists, and material accompanying the artworks.

We would like to thank the Kulturstiftung des Bundes (German Federal Cultural Foundation), which supports the 11th Berlin Biennale as a top cultural institution, all supporters, our partners, especially the participants and the exhibition venues for the confidence and cooperation that made the 11th Berlin Biennale possible.
